Petit Kernormand Gite
Petit Kernormand gite is rural, but just a short walk from the town of Callac with its bars and
shops.. It is set on a working miniature horse stud farm with easy access to all the resident animals and buildings.
If you or your family want to take a 'hands on approach' you can participate in feeding chickens, Turkeys pigs and horses or walking even riding (for the children) one of our small rare breed horses.
This ancient and historical cottage has been totally refurbished. Inside it is very modern French in style, but the cottage still retains some quirky attributes and a traditional wood burning fire set in an inglenook fireplace.
The cottage shares a large garden with the main farmhouse and has a large splash pool in the summer months fed by a spring and a trampoline! VIEW THE GITE VIDEO HERE
This gite is not just for children but is fantastically situated for ;
Walking (3 official walks are signposted close by) and the walking is fantastic out of season in the wintery months.
Horse racing and trotting races - these are held on local course between 20 and 35 mins away or on beaches nearby
Visiting the coast – only 35 minutes to the nearest empty beach! - Yes empty!
Golf – there are many golf course nearby and my husband is always willing to talk about that bit!.
Historical sites – 'Kernormand' actually means 'home of the vikings' and guess what? - we have our very own large viking fortress mound complete with a huge moat area (now filled in) and of course if you love churches there are many around here just a few minutes drive in most any direction.
Markets - there is a traditional french market (some bigger than others) nearby nearly every day.
Playing with animals.. yes we have about 30 miniature horses 5 big horses some for riding (supervised) and some just for decoration! If you want to take one for a walk or maybe have a ride then just speak to me (Sharon) about it. Yo can also adopt a dog if you like (he's called Rocky and is a terror (sorry terrier) - children love him and you can take him for walks or just play with him...
